We’re two weeks into the 2108 season and many fantasy owners are patching the holes in their rosters.  Some owners are feeling good about their rosters and are looking to improve their depth, while others have gotten off to a slow start and feel their rosters need a makeover.  Make sure that you are 100% certain that you a ready to move on from a player before submitting your waiver claim.  There are many players that were targeted early in drafts that have gotten off to a slow start, and sometimes the best move ends up being the one you don’t make.  However, you are here for a reason, so we hope you find value in this list of the weekend’s hottest names.

Shai Werts, QB-Georgia Southern

Werts has accounted for three touchdowns in each of the Eagles’ first two games of the year.  His 36 rushing attempts, 246 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns are all team-highs.  Georgia Southern plays at Clemson next week and has a bye the following week, so Werts won’t pay instant dividends, but if you can afford to sit on him for a couple of weeks, he could be an option in 2-QB leagues when conference play starts.

Chris Robison, QB-Florida Atlantic

Robison wasn’t cemented as the starter going into the Owls’ opener at Oklahoma in Weeks 1, but after throwing for 471 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s win at Air Force, he should get a lot of consideration from fantasy owners needing to make a move to improve their quarterback depth.

Kevin Marks, RB-Buffalo

The redshirt freshman sparked the Buffalo running game by carrying the ball 25 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Bulls 36-29 win over Temple.  The Buffalo offense can certainly use a productive back to complement the passing game, which features quarterback Tyree Jackson and receiver Anthony Johnson.

Marcus Outlow, RB-Coastal Carolina

After rushing for 59 yards in the season opener at South Carolina, Outlow gashed the UAB defense for 140 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday.  There aren’t many roadblocks on the Chanticlears future schedule, so Outlow could give fantasy owners another starting option at running back or flex.

Fred Holly, RB-Hawaii

The Rainbow Warriors have started 3-0 and Holly has carried the ball at least 16 times in each of those games.  In the past two games, Holly has rushed for at least 80 yards and a touchdown.  On the season Holly has 50 rushing attempts and the next closest running back on the roster is Dayton Furuta with nine.

Stevie Scott, RB-Indiana

We weren’t big on Scott after he ran for 70 yards on 20 carries in Week 1 at Florida International, but he’s hard to ignore after running for 204 yards and carrying the ball 31 times in Indiana’s home win over Virginia.  Scott now has 51 rushing attempts on the season and no other Indiana running back has more than five carries.

CJ Windham, WR-Middle Tennessee

After two weeks, Ty Lee is the fourth-best fantasy receiver on the Middle Tennessee roster.  CJ Windham has caught a touchdown pass in each of the Blue Raiders first two games of the year, and at 6-foot-2 and 209 pounds, may be the team’s best red zone target when compared to Brad Anderson (5-foot-8) and Ty Lee (5-foot-9).

Obi Obialo, WR-Marshall

After two weeks, Tyre Brady and Obi Obialo are the only two Marshall receivers to catch more than five passes, have more than 100 yards receiving, or score a touchdown.  The duo can claim to have accomplished all three, and while Tyre Brady is clearly the No. 1 receiver, Obialo will be a fantasy factor if he remains the team’s second-best receiver.

Nykeim Johnson, WR-Syracuse

After missing the first game of the year with an injury, Nykeim Johnson may have found his way back into your waiver pool.  After catching three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown against Wagner, his former owners may be scrambling to reclaim him.

Flynn Nagel, WR-Northwestern

Northwestern is one of only five teams in the FBS that haven’t thrown a touchdown pass, but Flynn Nagel has clearly established himself as the team’s top receiver to start the 2018 season.  Nagel’s 17 receptions and 191 receiving yards more than double the numbers of the Wildcats’ next best receiver (Bennett Skowronek 7 rec., 84 yards).

Rico Bussey, WR-North Texas

If fantasy owners invested in the North Texas passing game on draft day, Bussey may already be on a roster.  If not, he’s one of the few players on this list that will provide an instant upgrade at his position. His 17 receptions, 237 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns all lead the team.

Tylan Wallace, WR-Oklahoma State

Going into Week 2, there was still a lot of uncertainty about who would be the Cowboys’ top receiver in 2018.  In the preseason, we projected Tyron Johnson, Dillon Stoner, and Jalen McCleskey to be OSU’s top three receivers this year.  After catching ten passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in a Week 2 win over South Alabama, Tylan Wallace is on pace to lead the team in receiving.  The sophomore receiver is the only player on the roster to catch at least four passes and a touchdown in each of the first two games of the year.

Kawaan Baker, WR-South Alabama

Kawaan Baker was in our Others to Consider section of the Week 1 Waiver Wire.  After two more scores in a road game at Oklahoma State, we felt compelled to put him back on the list.  The sophomore receiver is the Jaguars top rusher (91 yards), he is second on the team in receptions (6), and has scored five of South Alabama’s six offensive touchdowns.

Cody White, WR-Michigan State

Cody White has been the Spartans’ top offensive playmaker after two games.  The 6-foot-3 sophomore receiver has caught at lest five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in each of the Spartans’ first two games of the year.
