Brock Purdy, QB-Iowa State

During the Iowa State-Oklahoma State game, one of our followers emailed the site and mentioned that Brock Purdy was putting on a show.  That was a fitting description of the freshman’s performance against the Cowboys.  Purdy was 18-of-23 for 318 yards and four touchdowns passing, and added another 84 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Nate Stanley, QB-Iowa

When you think of fantasy quarterbacks, rarely does an Iowa signal caller come to mind.  But for those of you who play in Power 5 leagues, Nate Stanley is playing with a hot hand.  In the past two games, Stanley has thrown for 879 yards and eight touchdowns, which makes him more valuable than players such as Jarrett Stidham, Brian Lewerke, and Clayton Thorson.

Sheriron Jones, QB-New Mexico

In 2017, the Lobos struggled to throw the ball, but they were a run-centric offense.  Jones has helped the transition to a spread offense look fairly seamless.  In the past two games, the junior quarterback has passed for 562 yards and eight touchdowns.

Brandon McIlwain, QB-Cal

Brandon McIlwain has accounted for two touchdowns in each of the past two games, doing more damage on the ground than through the air, rushing for 230 yards and three touchdowns.  His dual-threat ability gives the Cal offense a formidable 1-2 punch on the ground between McIlwain and running back Patrick Laird.

Joshua Kelley, RB-UCLA

Joshua Kelley opened the season as the Bruins’ starter at running back, but we didn’t think he was the long-term answer for the Bruins’ running game.  Over the past two games, Kelley has proven us wrong, totaling 249 yards on the ground and catching six passes out of the backfield.

Kesean Strong, RB-Old Dominion

Kesean Strong made our Waiver Wire list earlier in the season when it seemed Jeremy Cox would be limited with an ankle injury.  However, Strong suffered an injury himself and has played sparingly throughout the first half of the 2018 season.  On Saturday, he looked healthy, running for 99 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries and adding another 50 yards and a touchdown receiving.  Now, current owners of Jeremy Cox may be forced to add another ODU running back onto their roster.

Kaleb Fossum, WR-Nevada

Through the first three games of 2018, Kaleb Fossum had thirteen receptions for 201 yards.  In the past three games, the junior receiver has caught 32 passes for 295 yards.  Even though the junior receiver still doesn’t have a touchdown reception, he’s incredibly valuable in PPR formats.

Landon Wolf, WR-Oklahoma State

We were a little hesitant to recommend using a waiver claim on Landon Wolf after his performance against Kansas two weeks ago, when he caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown.  On Saturday, he hauled in another six passes for 63 yards and a touchdown against Iowa State, and now the sophomore receiver has more than caught our attention.

Keenen Brown, TE-Texas State

If you play in a Full FBS league that requires a tight end, you already know about Brown.  If you play in a Full-FBS league that does not require a tight end, this guy can start over most receivers on your roster.  The 6-foot-3 and 250-pound senior has at least 90 receiving yards and a touchdown in three of his last four games.

Matt Bushman, TE-BYU

Matt Bushman caught 49 passes for 520 yards and three touchdowns in 2017.  However, it was Moroni Laulu-Pututau who was the Cougars’ top target at tight end through the first four games of 2018.  Laulu-Pututau was lost for the season after suffering a torn ACL, which has opened the door for Bushman to once again be the top target at the position.
