We listed several players in the Week 1 waiver report that may still be available in your league, double-back on last week’s content here after checking out this week’s hottest names.

QUARTERBACKS

Josh Jackson, QB-Maryland

We offered so many names to consider at quarterback last week, that our list is a short one coming out of Week 2.  Maryland’s offense, led by Josh Jackson, has opened eyes after scoring 142 points in two games, most notably 63 points at home against Syracuse on Saturday.  If the Terrapins are going to score with greater frequency in 2019, Jackson needs to be considered as a waiver addition, as he has thrown seven touchdown passes in two games.

Elijah Sindelar, QB-Purdue

Sindelar was listed among quarterbacks to consider on last week’s waiver wire report, but after throwing for over 500 yards and five touchdown passes in a 42-24 win over Vanderbilt, he will be a goner off waiver wire this week.

Dan Ellington, QB-Georgia State

Ellington was listed in our Week 1 waiver report after leading the Panthers to an upset win at Tennessee.  Well, he followed up that performance by throwing for over 350 yards and adding five touchdown passes in a 48-42 win over Furman on Saturday.  Whether you need an upgrade at quarterback or additional roster depth, Ellington needs to be taken seriously.

RUNNING BACKS

Isaiah Spiller, RB-Texas A&M

This waiver addition may not be for everyone, but if you have Jashaun Corbin on your roster, Spiller is already on your radar.  Corbin suffered an injury in Saturday’s game at Clemson and we’re not sure if he will miss any time or not.  Hopefully, Corbin’s injury isn’t serious, but the Aggies won’t need him this weekend when they host Lamar, so at the very least, Spiller is a valuable short-term investment.  UPDATE: Jasahun Corbin will miss the remainder of the 2019 season with a hamstring injury.

Elijah Collins, RB-Michigan State

In Michigan State’s 51-17 win over Western Michigan, Collins carried the ball 17 times for 192 yards.  The Spartans’ are still searching for a No. 1 option in the backfield, or are they?  It might be worth taking a chance on the redshirt freshman if he ends up sticking as the primary ball carrier.

Xavier Jones, RB-SMU

When a running back scores six touchdowns in two games, he will be near the top of every owner’s waiver wire wish list, and that will be the case with Xavier Jones this week.  In addition to his six scores, Jones has carried the ball 34 times for 183 yards, while sharing backfield duties with Ke’Mon Freeman.  As long as the Mustangs stay committed to the run, Jones will get enough touches to be a fantasy factor in 2019.

Larry McCammon, RB-Florida Atlantic

After two games, freshman running back Larry McCammon leads the Owls in rushing yards and has scored the team’s only two rushing touchdowns.  Having already played Ohio State and Central Florida, FAU’s schedule gets much softer, with games against Ball State, Wagner, and Charlotte over the next three weeks.  McCammon shouldn’t be your top priority on this week’s waiver wire, but if your style is finding the next hot name before they become the next hot name, and you have a roster spot to spare, McCammon could be your guy.

Jaylen Warren, RB-Utah State

Utah State running back Jaylen Warren has topped the 100-yard mark in each of the Aggies’ first two games and has totaled three touchdowns.  He leads the team in carries (28), rushing yards (246), and touchdowns (3), and we’re buying the junior back as a long term fantasy option.

RECEIVERS

Justin Jefferson, WR-LSU

Last week, we mentioned that you should buy into LSU quarterback Joe Burrow.  Well, if you missed out on Burrow, you may as well put in a claim for his top receiver, Justin Jefferson.  After Saturday night’s highlight reel game against Texas, Jefferson has 14 receptions for 250 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Antonio Nunn, WR-Buffalo

Antonio Nunn missed Buffalo’s season opener with an injury, but he returned for the game at Penn State on Saturday and led the team with five receptions for 113 yards.  If the Bulls’ run game remains as dominant as it was a season ago, there should be opportunities downfield in the passing game, and Nunn figures to be quarterback Matt Myers’ go-to receiver.

Cornelius McCoy, WR-Georgia State

The sophomore receiver seems to be quarterback Dan Ellington’s No.1 receiver, at least judging from the first two weeks of 2019.  McCoy is the Panthers’ leading receiver with 13 catches for 186 yards and two touchdowns.  After a road trip to Western Michigan this weekend, Georgia State gets into their Sun Belt schedule.

Siaosi Mariner, WR-Utah State

If Utah State quarterback Jordan Love is going to be widely owned, it would make sense to jump on one of his receivers.  Siaosi Mariner has caught at least 5 passes, totaled over 70 yards receiving, and caught a touchdown pass in each of the Aggies’ first two games.  His 13 receptions and 191 receiving yards are both team-highs.

Dante Wright, WR-Colorado State

So much for thinking that freshman receiver Dante Wright’s Week 1 performance against Colorado was a fluke.  In that game, he totaled 131 yards of offense and scored two touchdowns.  On Saturday, he totaled 144 yards of offense and scored another two touchdowns in the Rams 38-13 win over Western Illinois.  Wright has simply been too productive to be passed on this week, especially if you need an upgrade at receiver.
