QUARTERBACKS
Hendon Hooker, QB-Virginia Tech
The waiver wire is thin at quarterback this week, so Hooker could be targeted in Power-5 formats, especially with his upcoming matchup against Rhode Island. He only completed 50% of his passes at Miami, but he did throw three touchdowns and added 76 yards and a score on the ground.
Next 3 weeks: Rhode Island, North Carolina, OFF
Jett Duffey, QB-Texas Tech
No one wanted to touch Jett Duffey after a Week 5 clunker against Oklahoma, but he’ll likely be the hottest name on the waiver wire this week. In a turnaround performance against Oklahoma State, Duffey completed 26-of-44 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns.
Next 3 weeks: at Baylor, Iowa State, at Kansas
RUNNING BACKS
Jordan Mason, RB-Georgia Tech
Jordan Mason left last week’s game against Temple with an injury, but returned in Week 6 and carried the ball eight times for 62 yards and a touchdown in a 38-22 loss to North Carolina. The sophomore back has been the shining light in the Yellow Jackets’ dim offense, scoring in four of five games this season.
Next 3 weeks: at Duke, at Miami, OFF
Deon Jackson, RB-Duke
There is a good chance that Jackson is already on a handful of Power-5 rosters, but he could be available in many Full FBS formats. Last week, we learned that teammate Brittain Brown would miss the remainder of the 2019 season, so the junior back will likely shoulder more of the backfield responsibilities moving forward. In each of the past two games, Jackson has totaled at least 100 yards of offense and scored a rushing and receiving touchdown.
Next 3 weeks: Georgia Tech, at Virginia, at North Carolina
Wesley Kennedy, RB-Georgia Southern
Wesley Kennedy missed the first four games of the season, but made his 2019 debut Thursday night at South Alabama and carried the ball eight times for 52 yards and a touchdown. At 2-3, the Eagles offense could use a spark, so there is a good chance Kennedy will get more touches in games following their bye week.
Next 3 weeks: OFF, Coastal Carolina, New Mexico State
Lucious Stanley, RB-UAB
Two-time 1,100-yard rusher Spencer Brown has been lost indefinitely to a foot injury and Lucious Stanley should assume the top spot on the Blazers’ running back depth chart. In Saturday’s 35-20 win over Rice, Stanley carried the ball 19 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Next 3 weeks: at UTSA, Old Dominion, OFF
RECEIVERS
Sam Pinckney, WR-Georgia State
In Saturday’s win over Arkansas State, Sam Pinckney caught nine passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. The 6-foot-4 and 210-pound redshirt freshman has caught at least seven passes and scored a touchdown in three of the Panthers’ last three games.
Next 3 weeks: at Coastal Carolina, Army, Troy
Kobe Smith, WR-San Diego State
Consistent fantasy production is difficult to find at receiver, especially in run-heavy offenses, but that hasn’t been the case at San Diego State. Sophomore receiver Kobe Smith has been the most productive fantasy asset on the Aztecs’ roster, catching at least seven passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in three of the last four games.
Next 3 weeks: Wyoming, at San Jose State, at UNLV
DEFENSE/ST
Toledo at Bowling Green
Virginia Tech vs Rhode Island
Louisiana Tech v Massachusetts
Duke v Georgia Tech
