Snatch ‘Em Up Now

If they weren’t already drafted in your league, these guys will be hot commodities on the wire this week.

Quarterbacks:

Carlos Del Rio-Wilson, Marshall – CDRW is doing his best to ruin my under 5.5 wins wager with Marshall. This was the second time in three weeks that Rio-Wilson has scored 42 fantasy points, helping Marshall upset Old Dominion on Saturday. CDRW can get it done with his arm and on the ground with over 300 yards of total offense in each of the last two games. Rio-Wilson has two really intriguing matchups to keep this streak going, facing Texas State next week who allows 27 FPPG to opposing quarterbacks this season, followed by Coastal Carolina the following week.

Running Backs:

Jeffrey Pittman, Southern Mississippi – Pittman has been splitting carries earlier in the year, but the coaching staff leaned on the senior running back for 140 yards on 31 carries in the win over Georgia Southern. That’s now two rushing touchdowns for Pittman in each of the last three games, and a great matchup this coming week with a Louisiana run defense that is second worst in the Sun Belt. I debated having Pittman here or in the “Worth a Look” section because of the return of Robert Briggs Jr. who wound up not getting a carry but could factor into the equation down the road.

Wide Receivers:

Camden Brown, Georgia Southern – The passing game for Georgia Southern was forced to come alive in the comeback attempt vs. Southern Miss throwing the ball 42 times in the loss. Brown was on the other side of 17 of those attempts, finishing with 158 yards and a touchdown on 12 receptions. Double-digit fantasy points in every game this season as the team’s clear WR1.

CJ Williams, Stanford – Stanford is an…Air Raid? Williams has been the benefactor with three-straight 100-yard receiving performances with a combined 27 receptions on 40 (!) targets in that span. Outside of the Miami matchup in two weeks, and maybe Notre Dame at the end of the season, there’s quite a few appealing matchups for the Stanford passing game.

Griffin Wilde, Northwestern – This might be the last time we list Wilde on our WW report, because I’m pretty sure that 7% ownership on Fantrax is all theCFFSite readers. Touchdowns in each of the last three games for Wilde with double-digit fantasy points in five of six games played. Next week is Northwestern’s best matchup remaining this season vs. Purdue.

Demarcus Lacey, Marshall – Lacey has arguably been the best fantasy receiver in the country over the last three games with three-straight 100-yard receiving performances and four touchdowns in that span. He’ll be close to 50% owned, if not more, after waivers run this week on Fantrax.

Jackson Harris, Hawaii – The Hawaii passing game is rolling when everyone is healthy. Harris hit 100+ receiving yards for the second time in as many games as one of three Hawaii receivers to have double-digit targets on Saturday night with a healthy Pofele Ashlock and Nick Cenacle who made his return to the field.

Tight Ends:

Sam Roush, Stanford – Roush was a disappointment out of the gates but has also benefitted from Ben Gulbranson’s emergence as a legitimate passer in recent weeks, scoring double-digit fantasy points in three of the last four games.

Worth A Look

If you have the roster room, these prospects are worth a look.

Quarterbacks:

Caden Creel, Jacksonville State – Creel got the job done again this week vs. Sam Houston, rushing for 133 yards and a touchdown on 25 attempts, though three fumbles didn’t help his overall fantasy production. Quick turnaround this week playing Delaware on Wednesday but looks like it should be an entertaining matchup with an early game total of 58.5 points. Creel will project well if you need a bye-week filler.

Mason Heintschel, Pittsburgh – Another check mark. We wanted to see how the freshman would follow up last week’s performance and Heintschel passed the test, throwing for 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Look at Pittsburgh’s next three opponents. Syracuse, NC State and Stanford are currently the 13th, 15th and 16th ranked scoring defenses in the ACC. Beautiful upcoming schedule.

Cale Hellums, Army – Hellums got the starting nod again and looks to have won the starting QB job over Dwayne Coleman moving forward, scoring 27 or more fantasy points for the second straight game with a combined five rushing scores in that span.

Broc Lowry, Western Michigan – Fourth straight game, and fifth time in the last six that Lowry has scored at least 22 fantasy points after scoring a season-best 38 points in the blowout of Ball State. Lowry gives you a fantasy floor each week as a runner, but this was his best passing performance of the season with 241 yards through the air.

Running Backs:

Joe Jackson, Kansas State – With a double-digit lead, K-State leaned on Jackson who rumbled for 110 yards on 27 rushing attempts in the win over TCU. Varying reports out there on what is going on with Dylan Edwards, but some speculation that we may not see him return this season. Jackson could be the team’s starter the rest of the way potentially.

Roman Hemby, Indiana – If you need a streamer running back the next two weeks, Hemby has some really strong matchups on the horizon with the dead body that is Michigan State and UCLA’s last ranked run defense in the B1G – although improved following Deshaun Foster’s departure.

Caleb Komolafe, Northwestern – Komolafe only averaged 3.8 YPC vs. Penn State but managed to find the end-zone for the third time in as many games. Strong matchup this week for Komolafe against a Purdue defense that has allowed the second-most rushing TDs in the Big Ten, and giving up around 30 fantasy points combined to opposing backfields.

Rueben Owens, Texas A&M – Can we trust Le’Veon Moss at this point to stay healthy, even if he’s in uniform next week? Owens has another productive game in relief of Moss, rushing for 50 yards and a score vs. Florida. If Moss does not play next week, Owens could be a top 20 projected running back with a matchup against Arkansas.

King Miller, USC – From walk-on to spotlight. Waymond Jordan and Eli Sanders both went down with injuries against Michigan, and Sunday morning reporting suggests that Jordan will be out multiple weeks due to injury. Miller stepped in to rush for 158 yards and a touchdown vs. a Michigan run defense that was in the top half of the Big Ten prior to Saturday. Miller will get the bulk of the carries for the Trojans in the next few games you would have to imagine.

Wide Receivers:

Gabriel Benyard, Kennesaw State – Double-digit fantasy points in five of six games played this season for Benyard who is a multi-faceted offensive weapon for the Owls that is utilized in the run game as a former running back. Have to feel good about the Kennesaw State offense moving forward after obliterating Louisiana Tech.

Kam Perry, Miami (Ohio) – Perry continues to be the most consistent Miami (Ohio) receiver, scoring double-digit fantasy points for the fifth straight week. If the RedHawk run game continues to underwhelm without Kenny Tracy, we’ll likely see the passing volume increase in future weeks which will benefit Perry.

Keagan Johnson, New Mexico – Johnson is benefitting by New Mexico’s complete inability run the football at all the last several weeks. The former Kansas State transfer has been targeted at least eight times in four of five games played this season, with a combined 25 targets in just the last two weeks.

Tight Ends:

Richie Anderson, Fresno State – The sophomore tight end has seen an uptick in production the last two weeks with 13 receptions on 16 targets. In a year where productive fantasy tight ends are scarce, Anderson could be an option.
