Snatch ‘Em Up Now

If they weren’t already drafted in your league, these guys will be hot commodities on the wire this week.

Quarterbacks:

Cale Hellums, Army – Credit the coaching staff for moving on from Dwayne Coleman to start Cale Hellums as he’s now posted at least 25 fantasy points in each of the last four games. As is usually the case with Army QBs, Hellums’ usage is primarily coming on the ground, averaging 26.5 rushing attempts per game. Hellums gets a matchup with Temple next week – a team that just gave up 45 points to East Carolina this weekend.

Running Backs:

Evan Dickens, Liberty – We mentioned last week how consistent Dickens had been when healthy, scoring double-digit fantasy points in four of five games that he’d played the entire game. That momentum came to a head against Delaware, rushing for 217 yards and four scores in a career performance. The former Georgia Tech transfer secured playoff berths for some teams with his 46-point fantasy outing. Dickens has another strong matchup this week against Missouri State who has allowed the third most rushing touchdowns (15) in Conference USA.

Xavier Robinson, Oklahoma – I thought we might still see a split between Xavier Robinson and Tory Blaylock, but favoring the former based on how he’s performed the last two and a half weeks. Not the case at all, with Robinson getting all but one rushing attempt that went to OU running backs on Saturday vs. Tennessee, rushing for 106 yards and a score. We have a clear RB1 now for the Sooners.

Wide Receivers:

Nik McMillan, Buffalo – Should I include Al’Jay Henderson on this week’s article as well? Cruel joke to those who rostered him for much of the year only to cut bait last week before his 100-yard performance against Bowling Green on Saturday. That aside, McMillan has been Buffalo’s best offensive weapon of late with three-straight 100-yard receiving performances. The Bulls are on bye this week, but McMillan will have value to those in the CFF playoffs.

Jackson Harris, Hawaii – Likely not available in any leagues that are paying attention, but Harris still sits at 33% ownership despite four straight 100-yard receiving performances. Hawaii passing game is ROLLING.

Worth A Look

If you have the roster room, these prospects are worth a look.

Quarterbacks:

Scotty Fox Jr., West Virginia – Rich Rod might be purple in the face, and piss some people off in the process, but he usually gets his offenses clicking at some point once he settles on a quarterback. Is Fox for sure that guy in 2026 and beyond? Who knows, but he is here and now in the present after combining for over 200 total yards and three touchdowns in the upset victory over Houston. Next week is an excellent matchup against a Colorado defense that has quit on the season, allowing 50+ points in consecutive games.

Jeff Sims, Arizona State – The long-time CFF player in me that has seen all six years of Jeff Sims cannot put him as a must-add, even after scoring 47.9 fantasy points against Iowa State on Saturday. But man, look at that closing schedule for Arizona State. Home against West Virginia, a road matchup with a dead body that is Colorado and then home against rival Arizona. Sims is playable in at least two of those three matchups.

Rodney Tisdale Jr., Western Kentucky – Maverick McIvor has been suited up in pads the last two weeks, but is being considered an emergency option only. That’s code for benched, especially after the freshman threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns vs. New Mexico State. As long as WKU is winning, expect to see Tisdale remain the starter moving forward.

Running Backs:

Diore Hubbard, West Virginia – Everything said above about Fox applies to Hubbard here as well. The redshirt freshman ran for a season-high 108 yards and a touchdown on 29 attempts on Saturday.

London Montgomery, East Carolina – Montgomery has looked like the former Penn State recruit that he was coming out of high school over the last two weeks with over 200 yards and two touchdowns against Tulsa and Temple. Montgomery has a matchup with a Charlotte defense this week that is second to last in the AAC, allowing over 37 PPG.

Keyjuan Brown, Louisville – Quotes after the game from Jeff Brohm state that he fears Isaac Brown “might be out a little while.” Whether that’s two weeks or more, we won’t know until later in this week (if at all), but that sounds like Brown will not be available against Cal this Saturday. Backup Keyjuan Brown stepped up against Virginia Tech to rush for 94 yards and two scores in his absence and likely starts this coming week. Why isn’t Brown listed higher then here? Well, Duke Watson was questionable entering the weekend and seems to be on the verge of returning to the lineup here shortly. We’ll see what the injury report looks like this week for the Cardinals.

Wide Receivers:

Jordan Hudson, SMU – Double-digit fantasy points in five of the last six games for Hudson, including 100+ yards in two of the last three games vs. Clemson and Miami. Helping the entire SMU passing game is the Mustangs’ inability to get anything done on the ground, so expect to see high pass volume moving forward which benefits Hudson, Kevin Jennings and all involved.

Shelton Sampson, Louisiana – The former LSU transfer has been excellent in the two games since returning from injury with over 210 receiving yards and three touchdowns in that span. Sampson has a matchup against Texas State next week in what should be a high-scoring affair.

Eugene Wilson, Florida – Wilson had his “remember me?” game vs. Georgia, catching nine passes for 121 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. Did Wilson and Billy Napier not get along? Or was the difference that Florida was down Vernell Brown, Aidan Mizell due to injury, while also losing Dallas Wilson to injury during the contest. One to watch here to see if he has a late-season emergence.

Longshots

Need to see more from these guys before pulling the trigger unless you are in the deepest of leagues.
