POWER 5
- After Thursday’s performance against Virginia Tech, freshman MJ Morris will likely/should take over as NC State’s starting quarterback.
- Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid has caught a touchdown pass in four of the last five games and in five of eight games this year. I hinted at this after Utah played USC, but I cannot envision fantasy owners starting Tavion Thomas anytime soon, and if I owned him in non-keeper leagues, I don’t think he would be on my roster. Receiver Devaughn Vele has finished with 60 receiving yards or more in four of the last five games, and he has caught a touchdown pass in three of the last six games.
- BYU receiver Puka Nacua has caught at least seven passes and a touchdown in three consecutive games.
- I assumed Logan Diggs was going to take over as Notre Dame’s RB1 following Audric Estime’s fumbling issues, but after Estime’s 20-123-2 performance at Syracuse, Estime still feels like the better option on the Irish backfield.
- Syracuse head coach Dino Babers said that quarterback Garrett Shrader was dealing with an injury going into the matchup against Notre Dame, which played a factor in deciding to replace him with Carlos Del-Rio Wilson.
- I’m sure fantasy owners of quarterback Max Duggan were pleasantly surprised with his 29-yard touchdown pass to Savion Williams with 26 seconds to play. If you’ve seen the play, you will understand. Running back Kendre Miller has topped the 100-yard rushing mark in five of the last six games, and he has gone over 120 yards in four of those five games.
- Iowa State receiver Xavier Hutchinson has caught at least eight passes in all eight games this year, but he hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 3.
- I’m curious about the severity of Ohio State running back Miyan Williams’ injury, because if he’s out for a considerable amount of time, Tre’Veyon Henderson’s fantasy value sharply rises for the next few weeks.
- Penn State running back Kaytron Allen has scored a rushing touchdown in five of the last seven games.
- Arkansas running back Raheim Sanders has totaled over 100 yards from scrimmage in seven of eight games. He has six 100-yard rushing games this year, and he topped the 150-yard mark in four of those six games.
- Boston College quarterback Phil Jurkovec left Saturday’s game against Connecticut with a lower-body injury. It remains to be seen if he will miss any time, and if so, whether his absence will impact receiver Zay Flowers’ fantasy potential. If Saturday’s loss with backup Emmett Morehead was any indication, Flowers might be a risky play down the stretch.
- Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim has rushed for at least 100 yards and a touchdown in all seven games in which he has played this year, with four multiple-touchdown games.
- The nation’s leading rusher, Illinois’ Chase Brown, has run for at least 145 yards in six of eight games this year.
- Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has accounted for at least three touchdowns in every game except the season opener against Georgia. He has scored at least two rushing touchdowns in four of the last six games.
- Cal receiver J. Michael Sturdivant has caught a touchdown pass in five of his last six games.
- Georgia running back Dijon Edwards haas scored at least one rushing touchdown in four straight games and has gotten at least 10 carries in each of the last five games. Teammate Kenny McIntosh has scored a rushing touchdown in three consecutive games.
- Sam Hartman had one of the more disappointing Week 9 performances, going 20-of-35 for 271 yards, with a TD and three interceptions at Louisville. He was sacked seven times.
- Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham has scored two or more rushing touchdowns in four of the last five games in which he has played.
- USC running back Travis Dye has scored a rushing touchdown in seven consecutive games and has run for 100 yards or more in five of those games. With Jordan Addison not playing against Arizona, I was expecting Mario Williams to have a big day, but he was also held out after sustaining a “little tweak” according to head coach Lincoln Riley.
- Arizona receiver Dorian Singer has caught a touchdown pass in three of his last four games and has gone over 100 yards receiving in there of the last five games.
- Arizona State running back Xazavian Valladay has scored a touchdown in seven of eight games this year and has scored two or more touchdowns in three of the last four games. I would expect Trenton Bourguet to start at quarterback the rest of the way for the Sun Devils.
- True freshman quarterback Conner Weigman completed 28-of-44 passes for 338 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s loss to Ole Miss. After that performance, expect Weigman to get the nod the rest of the way for the Aggies.
- Michigan running back Blake Corum has scored two or more touchdowns in four of the last six games.
- Baylor running back Richard Reese has scored in six of eight games this year and has four multiple-TD games. In the last two weeks, he combined rushing totals are: 67 carries, 334 yards, and 5 TDs.
- Pitt running back Israel Abanikanda has rushed for 125 yards or more in six of his last seven games and leads the nation with 16 rushing touchdowns.
- UCLA running back Zach Charbonnet has rushed for at least 150 yards in three consecutive games.

- Cincinnati running back Corey Kiner was healthy and available to play against UCF, but did not see the field.
- After accounting for three or more touchdowns in each of the first seven games of the year, Western Kentucky quarterback Austin Reed has only accounted for a total of three touchdowns in the last two games.

- Fantasy owners that needed a big game from Wyoming running back Titus Swen in the week’s final game were unfortunately burned after Swen missed the final three quarters of the game due to him being in concussion protocol.
