Joe Week 8 Notes & Observations

Power Conferences

Louisville WR Chris Bell has caught at least nine passes and totaled at least 135 receiving yards in each of the last three games.
In his last three games, Miami QB Carson Beck has thrown seven TD passes and seven interceptions.
Nebraska RB Emmett Johnson has scored eight TDs this season, all in just three games, meaning he has failed to score in four of seven.
Cal RB Kendrick Raphael has scored at least one TD in three straight games and is averaging 89 rushing yards in the Bears’ last three. Cal WR Jacob De Jesus has caught at least six passes in five of the last six games.
After rushing for over 100 yards in three of the first four games, Baylor RB Bryson Washington is averaging 55 rushing yards over the Bears’ last three contests and has totaled only 30 rush attempts during that stretch. He had 83 carries in the first four games of 2025.
Arizona RB Kedrick Rescano has scored a rushing TD in three of four games played this season. Five of Arizona WR Tre Spivey’s ten receptions have resulted in a TD.
Michigan RB Justice Haynes was questionable all week and did not play against Washington. Michigan RB Jordan Marshall handled the workload, rushing for 133 yards and a TD on 25 carries in the Wolverines’ 24-7 win. Freshman Michigan WR Andrew Marsh added five receptions for 49 yards and a TD and has now totaled at least 80 receiving yards or scored a TD in three straight games.
Unfortunate break for those who started Boston College RB Turbo Richard, who left Saturday’s game against UConn with a shoulder injury.
Georgia Tech QB Haynes King has scored at least one rushing TD in all six games he has played this year and has totaled ten rushing TDs. King has scored at least ten rushing TDs in three straight seasons.
Oklahoma WR Isaiah Sategna III has caught a TD pass in three of the Sooners’ last four games.
South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers has accounted for only six total TDs (five passing) in seven games.
If you are still holding SMU RB TJ Harden, it’s safe to drop him. Even though Harden leads the team in carries, he isn’t much of a fantasy factor. SMU WR Jordan Hudson has caught a TD pass in three of his last four games, while SMU WR Romello Brinson has gone five straight games without a TD after catching three in the Mustangs’ first two contests.
Clemson WR Bryant Wesco did not record a reception against SMU and dropped a potential TD that hit him in the hands.
After scoring at least one TD in every game this season, Texas Tech RB Cameron Dickey had his worst outing of the year with only 44 scrimmage yards in the Red Raiders’ 26-22 loss at Arizona State.
With Texas A&M RB Le’Veon Moss out due to injury, RB Rueben Owens II should be a weekly starting option. Owens ran for 69 yards and two TDs in the win over Arkansas and has now scored in back-to-back games. Moss’s absence may also have boosted Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed’s fantasy value, as he has scored a rushing TD in three straight games.
Oregon QB Dante Moore has thrown three or more TD passes in five of seven games this season.
Rutgers RB Antwan Raymond had his lowest output of the season against Oregon (18-55-0) and failed to score a TD for the first time in seven games. Rutgers WR Ian Strong finished with only one reception for six yards.
Despite Penn State’s recent struggles, Penn State RB Kaytron Allen has scored at least one rushing TD in all seven games this season.
Iowa QB Mark Gronowski has scored at least one rushing TD in all seven games and leads the Hawkeyes with ten rushing TDs.
Pitt HC Pat Narduzzi said that RB Desmond Reid is not 100%, which explains his limited usage against Syracuse. Reid should not be started until he’s fully healthy.
USC RB King Miller has logged 18 carries in each of the Trojans’ last two games with RB Waymond Jordan sidelined.
Even though Tennessee has three options in the backfield, RB Desean Bishop has separated himself over the past two weeks, totaling 28 carries for 269 yards and three TDs. Bishop has now scored in four consecutive games.
It would not be surprising if Auburn HC Hugh Freeze is fired soon, and Florida State HC Mike Norvell could also be on thin ice.
Just when it looked like the Utah backfield was a 50-50 split between Wayshawn Parker and Naquari Rogers, freshman Daniel Bray entered the picture with 121 yards and a TD against BYU.
BYU QB Bear Bachmeier has scored at least one rushing TD in six of seven games this season. BYU RB LJ Martin has totaled at least 21 carries in three straight games and rushed for 100-plus yards five times.

Non-Power Conferences

South Alabama QB Bishop Davenport has failed to pass for 200 yards in six of seven games this season.
FIU RB Kejon Owens has logged at least 15 rush attempts in five straight games.
After throwing eight TD passes in the first two games of the year, Western Kentucky QB Maverick McIvor has thrown only four in the last five.
San Jose State WR Danny Scudero entered Friday’s game at Utah State questionable and finished with his worst performance of the season, catching six passes for 25 yards.
Entering October, it looked like Utah State QB Bryson Barnes would be a consistent high-performer, but he has scored fewer than 30 fantasy points in the Aggies’ last two games against Hawaii and San Jose State. RB Miles Davis generated early-season hype, but his inconsistency makes him a spot starter at best.
After weeks of QB rotation, it might be time to revisit Army QB Cade Hellums, who has rushed for 379 yards and seven TDs in the last three games.
Miami (OH) RB Jordan Brunson has carried the ball at least 19 times in each of the RedHawks’ last three games.
Buffalo RB Al-Jay Henderson still has not surpassed 100 rushing yards in a game this season. In Saturday’s 28-21 win at UMass, he ran 20 times for 59 yards and is averaging only 3.6 yards per carry. WR Victor Snow has caught two TD passes in each of the Bulls’ last two games and has scored in five of seven this year.
Old Dominion WR Tre Brown III has posted at least 70 receiving yards in five of his last six games. Going into Saturday’s matchup at James Madison, QB Colton Joseph was averaging 80.5 rushing yards per game, but the Dukes limited him to four yards on eight attempts.
UTSA RB Robert Henry Jr. topped 100 rushing yards for the first time in three weeks and has now scored in six of seven games.
Texas State RB Lincoln Pare had his lowest rushing output of the season against Marshall but scored an overtime TD, giving him at least one TD in six of seven games. WR Chris Dawn Jr. has posted at least 100 receiving yards in three of six games played this year.
Marshall QB Carlos Del Rio-Wilson has rushed for at least 80 yards in three straight games. WR Demarcus Lacey’s streak of 100-yard games ended on Saturday, but he still finished with seven catches for 88 yards, marking his third straight game with at least seven receptions.
Coastal Carolina QB Samari Collier has rushed for at least 74 yards in each of the last two games and has accounted for five TDs (three rushing) in that span.
Appalachian State RB Jaquari Lewis has outcarried teammate Rashod Dubinion in the Mountaineers’ last two games. WR Davon Dozier has caught a TD pass in three straight games, while WR Jaden Barnes has scored in five of seven this season.
Another big outing for Boise State RB Dylan Riley with 15 carries for 201 yards and a TD. There’s no doubt he’s the Broncos’ best back.
Air Force QB Liam Szarka had his worst fantasy performance of the season against Wyoming but still rushed for 141 yards and a TD on 26 carries.
Ohio scored seven TDs in its 48-21 win over Northern Illinois, but QB Parker Navarro accounted for only one. Navarro has totaled just nine TDs (six passing, three rushing) in the Bobcats’ last six games.
Memphis QB Brendon Lewis left Saturday’s game at UAB with an injury. No update was available on the severity as of Saturday night.
Georgia Southern WR Camden Brown had only two receptions in the Eagles’ 41-24 win over Georgia State but turned them into 48 yards and two TDs.
Hawaii WR Jackson Harris has recorded three consecutive 100-yard receiving games and scored four TDs over that span.
South Florida QB Byrum Brown has thrown at least three TD passes in four straight games and rushed for 80-plus yards and a TD in three straight. WR Jeremiah Koger has caught at least four passes and a TD in each of the Bulls’ last three games.
