Joe’s Week 12 Notes & Observations

As we wind down the 2024 season, my notes and observations are much more condensed now that we have arrived to the semifinal week of the fantasy season.  Details coming soon on Fantasy Bowl Leagues.

Power 5

  • Washington WR Denzel Boston has totaled only 4 receptions in the last two games and has gone scoreless in four straight games.  QB Will Rogers has thrown only one TD pass in the last four games.
  • Arizona WR Tetairoa McMillan has now caught a TD pass in three straight games after a six-game scoreless streak.
  • Colorado WR Will Sheppard has caught a TD pass in five of the Buffalo’s last six games.
  • Syracuse RB LeQuint Allen has scored at least 2 TDs in three straight games.
  • Louisville RB Duke Watson relieved injured starter Isaac Brown and ran for 117 yards and 3 TDs in the Cardinals’ 38-35 win at Stanford.
  • Boston College RB Kye Robichaux has scored in four consecutive games and has carried the ball at least 20 times in the last two weeks.
  • In Notre Dame’s 35-14 win over Virginia, RB Jeremiyah Love scored two rushing TDs, and now he has scored in all 10 games the season.  QB Riley Leonard’s streak of eight straight games with a rushing TD came to an end in the win over the Cavs.
  • USC QB Jayden Maiava looked very shaky in the early going against Nebraska, and even got lucky on a couple of other throws, one of which was a deflected pass that went for a TD, but he seemed to settle down as the game wore on, which led to a 30-point fantasy outing.  Now, he should be considered next week when the Trojans visit UCLA.
  • Baylor RB Bryson Washington has scored 2 or more TDs in three of the last four games and has totaled 8 TDs in the last two weeks.
  • In Missouri’s 34-30 loss at South Carolina, WR Luther Burden III scored his first receiving TD since the Tigers’ September 21 matchup against Vanderbilt.
  • Rutgers receiver Dymere Miller has caught a TD pass in back-to-back games and has caught at least 8 passes in two of the last three games.
  • Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson has caught 2 TD passes in each of the Sun Devils’ last two games, and he now has caught at least one TD pass in five of the last six games.  In the three games RB Cam Skattebo has received at least 25 rush attempts, he has totaled one TD.  In all other games in which he received fewer than 25 rush attempts (6), Skattebo has totaled 12 TDs.
  • Kansas State RB DJ Giddens has failed to score a rushing TD in five games this season in which he surpassed the 100-yard mark.

Group 5

  • In Ball State’s last two games, WR Justin Bowick has caught 15 passes for 319 yards and 3 TDs.
  • Buffalo RB Al-Jay Henderson has rushed for at least 80 yards in five consecutive games and has rushed for at least 100 yards in three of those games.  Also, Henderson has scored at least one TD in three of the Bulls’ last four games.
  • Bowling Green running back Terion Stewart has rushed for 100-plus yards in three of the last four games.
  • Miami (OH) RB Keyon Mozee has rushed for 100 yards in five consecutive games and has gone over the 100-yard rushing mark in six of the last seven games.
  • Akron WR Adrian Norton has caught a TD pass in three consecutive games.
  • NIU RB Telly Johnson Jr. has posted back-to-back 20-carry, 100-yard rushing games.
  • Tulsa WR Joseph Williams has posted back-to-back 100-yard receiving games, totaling 11 receptions for 270 yards and 4 TDs in the last two games.
  • East Carolina WR Winston Wright has caught a TD pass in four straight games and RB Rahjai Harris has scored a rushing TD in three straight games.
  • North Texas QB Chandler Morris has disappointed his fanatsy owners down the stretch, as he accounted for only one TD in the Mean Green’s last two games.  Morris’ struggles have led to WR DT Sheffield’s disappearance.  Sheffield totaled only 7 receptions for 44 yards in the last two weeks.
  • For those with Colorado State RB Avery Morrow, be aware that he has been splitting carries with Justin Marshall.  In Saturday’s win over Wyoming, Morrow had 13 rush attempts, while Marshall had 16.
  • Western Kentucky QB Caden Veltkamp did not account for a single TD in the Hilltoppers’ loss against Louisiana Tech after accounting for at least 3 TDs in all six matchups against G5 opponents this season.
  • Tulane RB Makhi Hughes has scored 2 TDs in six of the Green Wave’s last seven games.
  • Coastal Carolina RB Braydon Bennett has new scored at least one TD in seven of eight games this year.
  • Jacksonville St. RB Tre Stewart has scored 2 or more TDs in six of the Gamecocks’ last seven games.
  • FIU WR Eric Rivers has caught a TD pass in four straight games.
  • Temple WR Dante Wright made his return from injury and caught 14 passes for 147 yards in the Owls’ 18-15 OT win against FAU.
  • Kennesaw St. RB Michael Benefield has scored a rushing TD in four straight games.
  • Hawaii WR Pofele Ashlock has played in five straight games without catching more than three passes.
  • Utah State WR Otto Tia has caught a TD pass in three of the Aggies’ last four games.
  • Air Force fullback Dylan Carson has posted back-to-back games with at least 26 rush attempts, and in the last two weeks he has totaled 59 carries for 217 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Arkansas State RB Zak Wallace has scored a rushing TD in three straight games and has totaled 6 TDs during that span.
  • South Alabama WR Jamaal Pritchett has caught at least 11 passes in three consecutive games.
  • San Jose State WR Justin Lockhart has topped the 100-yard receiving mark in three of the Spartans’ last four games.
  • New Mexico State played at Texas A&M, but do not overlook RB Mike Washington over the next two weeks with matches against Middle Tennessee and UTEP.
