Tennessee
★Top Play(s) – RB Desean Bishop ($7,500)
Not much to glean from last week’s scrimmage vs. Furman, but Bishop actually carried the ball more than we thought he would, finishing with 97 yards and a touchdown on 14 attempts in the blowout win. If Bishop carried the ball 14 times in a 63-9 win, we imagine that’ll increase further against an ACC opponent with a freshman QB making his first road start. Georgia Tech allowed 183 rushing yards to Colorado, whose been one of the worst rushing P4 teams in the country the last few seasons.
↓Fade – TE Ethan Davis ($4,400)
Davis did end up on the receiving end of a touchdown in the opener but only played 19% of the team’s snaps and was targeted only once. After being limited for a significant portion of fall camp, there’s a chance the Tennessee staff will continue to limit Davis’ reps until he’s back at full swing.
↔Pivot Play – WR Braylon Staley ($4,500)
If you look back at the 2025 season for Tennessee receivers, it truly felt like the fantasy production alternated each week amongst the top three between Staley, WR Mike Matthews ($6,200) and Chris Brazzell. Just once all season did one of Tennessee’s receivers scored 20+ fantasy points in consecutive weeks. If that holds true again in 2026, Staley should be in for a big week. Staley was quiet in the opener, but this is the reigning SEC Freshman of the Year on offense, and $4.5k is too cheap for a player of his caliber.
$Bargain Bin – WR Radarious Jackson ($3,800)
We’d side with fading Jackson, or any of the other Tennessee receivers beyond Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley. When asked about the WR3 position this week, wide receiver’s coach Kelsey Pope called that spot a “committee right now.”
+Best of the Rest – QB Faizon Brandon ($8,000)
The 5-star had 5 touchdowns in the opener with over 300 total yards of offense. Projections love Brandon again this week with the Vols predicted to score nearly five touchdowns on Saturday night. Our slight caution is this being Brandon’s first road start of his career, in potential rainy conditions, but there’s also not a surplus of great QB options to go with on the slate.
Georgia Tech
★Top Play(s) – WR Jordan Allen ($5,000)
Georgia Tech was forced to the air more against Colorado than we’ve been accustomed to the last few seasons, and Allen was the primary recipient with eight catches for 113 yards on nine targets. Allen’s 4.52 yards per route run was also the highest on the team by a fairly significant margin. We expect Tech to be better on the ground than they were a week ago but will likely be forced to the air more than they’d like to be as a near two-touchdown underdog, benefiting Allen’s fantasy outlook.
↓Fade – RB Malachi Hosley ($5,400)
Georgia Tech split carries last season between Hosley and Jamal Haynes. The thought coming into the year is that this backfield would rival that 50-50 rush share split. Not the case after one week where Justice Haynes held a 19-6 advantage over Hosley in attempts. Neither was effective, but you cannot play Hosley at this pricing after that.
↔Pivot Play – RB Justice Haynes ($8,200)
Lean towards fading Haynes versus playing him on the slate given his pricing and how poorly the Georgia Tech offensive line played in the opener. 2.9 yards per carry as a team and the Yellow Jackets rank 130th in line yards after just one week. That said, we still like the rushing share Haynes got as we alluded to above which has signs pointing upward for Haynes’ outlook in 2026 if the OL gets their issues resolved.
$Bargain Bin – TE Kevin Roche Jr. ($3,400)
We expected tight end production to increase this season under new offensive coordinator George Godsey who coached the position at his previous stops in the NFL. But we also expected that to be New Mexico State transfer Gavin Harris. Last week, it was the 6-foot-9 (!) freshman who caught four passes on six targets. The stat we look for with tight ends is how much they are lining up in-line to block vs. in the slot. Well, Roche was lined up in the slot 58% of the time last week. Positive signs for fantasy production.
+Best of the Rest – QB Alberto Mendoza ($6,400)
The first half ankle injury clearly impacted Mendoza’s mobility last week, limited to just one carry which was a forced scramble. Hopefully a no news is good news situation, because there’s no update from Brent Key that I could find on how Mendoza is health-wise. While Mendoza displayed plenty of promise as a passer vs. Colorado, completing 71 percent of his throws, his fantasy value will come via his legs more than arm on a weekly basis.
