Week 2 Waiver Wire (Preview)

Kalieb Osborne

Connecticut

Even in a blowout loss where the offense mustered just two touchdowns, Osborne still managed to score 21 fantasy points with over 200 combined yards of offense. There’s a few more P4 opponents left on the schedule with Syracuse and North Carolina, but Osborne’s dual threat abilities will have him in the conversation as a weekly starter with 35 to 40-point upside against lesser opponents.

Collin Dixon

Illinois

Dixon will be the most-added player in CFF this week after catching 11 passes on 16 targets for 166 yards and three scores vs. Duke on Saturday. We’ve had great luck over the year with Illinois receivers, from Pat Bryant to Isaiah Williams and even last year with Hank Beatty. We will be very curious, though, to see how Dixon’s role changes, if at all, when Jayshon Platt comes back to the lineup from injury.

Jesse Legree

Oregon State

If not Dixon, Legree will be next on the most-added CFF player list after another monster performance with 240 receiving yards, two touchdowns and 44 fantasy points scored. Because of Oregon State’s inability to run the football at all through two games, the Beavers already rank 3rd nationally in pass rate. Bodes well for Legree and the entire Oregon State passing offense moving forward.

Chance Morrow

Buffalo

The Bulls used two quarterbacks on Saturday, but both did the exact same thing when in the game – throw the ball to Chance Morrow. The 6-foot-4 senior is now second in the country in both targets (29) and receptions (18) after his monster performance against FIU with 173 yards and two touchdowns. We won’t be starting Morrow against Penn State next week, but after that, it’s Robert Morris and then all MAC opponents the rest of the way.

DeAree Rogers

Northern Illinois

The Huskies look like a dump fire once again, suffering a loss to Illinois State, but the offense came alive to a degree once they benched Jalen Macon for Taron Dickens. Rogers was the clear and obvious WR1 with 11 receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown with almost 50% of the team’s targets (13).

Cam’ron Lacy

Middle Tennessee

Last time we include Lacy on this list most likely. The 5-foot-8 slot receiver followed up his 115-yard performance last week with 9-71-1 vs. Marshall on 15 targets. Lacy’s 23 targets this season now accounts for 34% of the team’s target share. Anything above 30% is borderline elite.

Brendan Jenkins

South Alabama

Again, shout out to Phil Steele calling Jenkins the South Alabama WR1 in his preseason magazine. Jenkins has lived up to that moniker, now with 197 yards and two touchdowns in as many games. This was with Anthony Eager in the lineup this week as well.

Ashton Hollins

Georgia Southern

Josh Dallas may lead Georgia Southern in targets this year, but Hollins is going to put up the big fantasy numbers as the primary boundary receiver. 198 yards for the former Illinois transfer through two games, 97 of which at Clemson on Saturday, with a touchdown in both contests. Do we have another Camden Brown?

Hunter Tipton

Memphis

There are results each Sunday morning when writing up the Waiver Wire report that will make your jaw drop. 200+ receiving yards from a tight end is a prime example of that. There’s been no Memphis WR to establish themselves yet as a top target in the offense, so Tipton may be the man for that job as the former Middle Tennessee transfer now leads the Tigers in every receiving category through three games.
