Snatch ’Em Up Now
If they weren’t already drafted in your league, these guys will be hot commodities on the wire this week.

QB
Quarterbacks

Navy logo
Jackson Gutierrez
Navy
Gutierrez erupted for 226 rushing yards and three touchdowns on a ridiculous 41 carries in Saturday’s 34-26 win over Tulsa, adding another 95 yards and a score through the air. Gutierrez got the start in place of Braxton Woodson and seems to now have a stranglehold on the QB1 job moving forward for the Midshipmen. He’s a priority add in all formats with that in mind, particularly dynasty leagues if he’s still available as Gutierrez has another year of eligibility.

Western Michigan logo
Broc Lowry
Western Michigan
Season-high 39 fantasy points scored for Lowry with four total touchdowns in the blowout win over Kent State. Beyond the Boise State matchup, Lowry has been very consistent week to week, just as he was last year, scoring 20 or more fantasy points in 10 of 12 games played. And after this weekend, Lowry now has more 30-point performances (2) than he did all of last year. If you’re in search of a consistent 20–25-point QB starter week to week, Lowry is what you’re seeking.

RB
Running Backs

Notre Dame logo
Jonaz Walton
Notre Dame
Walton didn’t start the game against Stanford but had the best closing argument for the Notre Dame RB1 job with 181 yards and two scores against a lifeless Stanford team. It’s clear who is the most talented back in the ND running back room after watching the last two games, but Walton’s usage will be interesting to track next week against the first legitimate opponent the Irish have faced all year in BYU.

WR
Wide Receivers

Southern Miss logo
Mario Sanders
Southern Miss
The former Illinois transfer has found the endzone four times in the last two games with a season-best 102 yards on eight receptions in the loss to Troy. And Sanders also displayed a talent we didn’t know he had in his repertoire, throwing a 75-yard touchdown pass as well. The matchup next week is enticing against an Arkansas State defense that just allowed 56 points to South Alabama, albeit all of those yards piled up were on the ground. We won’t write up a separate blurb below but could also give Sanders’ quarterback Landry Lyddy a look if you’re in a bye week pinch. 52 fantasy points over the last two weeks.

North Texas logo
Justin Stevenson
North Texas
Stevenson is now averaging 23 FPPG over the last four games, including four touchdowns in the last three weeks as he’s emerged as the legitimate WR1 for the Mean Green. You want the WR1 in the passing offense that ranks second in the country, averaging nearly 350 yards per game through the air.

TE
Tight Ends

Eastern Michigan logo
Joshua Long
Eastern Michigan
Target volume is steadily rising for Long, due in part somewhat to the absence of Nick Devereaux who is expected to be out multiple weeks with injury. 16 targets for long in the last two games, including a 100-yard receiving performance on Saturday against Akron. MACtion is agreeing with the talented tight end.

Worth A Look
A preview of two additional names from the full Week 6 Waiver Wire.

QB
Quarterbacks

Western Kentucky logo
Brock Glenn
Western Kentucky
The Hilltoppers made a change at quarterback with Brock Glenn taking over for Rodney Tisdale and move worked for one week, as WKU looked the best they have all season in a blowout win over Missouri State. Glenn threw for 231 yards and a touchdown, while adding 95 yards and a score on 15 attempts on the ground. Glenn had been solely utilized as the change of pace wildcat option but looks to be QB1 moving forward and a true dual threat.

RB
Running Backs

Buffalo logo
Messiah Burch
Buffalo
Doesn’t seem like Burch will be giving back the Buffalo RB1 job any time soon after his third straight 100-yard rushing performance in the upset win over Toledo. Next week might be tough sledding against UMass (not a joke) that do rank No. 2 in the MAC in run defense but gets a very intriguing matchup the following week against Bowling Green that’s allowing over five yards per carry.
