★ Top Play(s) – WR Jeremiah Smith ($9,700)
To play Jeremiah Smith at cost, or to fade? Albeit in a losing effort last year to Indiana, while scoring 10 points as a team, Smith was still a monster with eight receptions for 144 yards. Biggest difference for us between last year and this? No Carnell Tate to shade secondaries away from Smith. QBs are so cheap on this slate that it makes it more achievable to spend up for Smith.
↓ Fade – RB Isaiah West ($4,300)
Not playing a backup RB in a matchup of the titans such as this. Indiana allows just 14 FPPG to opposing backfields combined. In last year’s B1G title matchup, Bo Jackson got 17 of the 20 total rushing attempts that went to running backs.
↔ Pivot Play – RB Bo Jackson ($7,500)
9, 9, 11, 11, 16, 23. This is playing out just like last year with Bo Jackson, ramping up his carries in preparation for bigger matchups on the horizon. Jackson saw a season-high 23 attempts vs. Maryland last week for 107 yards and two touchdowns. Indiana’s run defense is among the best in the country, allowing just 75 yards on the ground, but we saw some vulnerabilities last week from the Hoosiers, allowing 128 yards to Nebraska.
$ Bargain Bin – TE Nate Roberts ($3,500)
Roberts is third in routes run for the Buckeyes, coming of a 68-yard touchdown reception against Maryland last week. For as many snaps that Roberts plays, he’s still a low-usage player, but we do like the matchup some. Indiana is giving up almost 12 FPPG to the tight end position this season, including 140 receiving yards from Northwestern’s Luke Dehnicke and seven receptions just this past week to Nebraska’s Luke Lindenmeyer.
+ Best of the Rest – QB Julian Sayin ($8,000)
Sayin’s salary drop on DK makes you stop and pause to consider playing him in this matchup, but difficult to envision doing that when you could save $500 for a player in Avery Johnson with a higher projection or spend up just $200 for Kevin Jennings in a better matchup. Indiana is holding QBs to just 14.2 FPPG this season, and those quarterbacks are scoring 11.8 fewer fantasy points than their seasonal average when facing the Hoosiers.

★ Top Play(s) – WR Charlie Becker ($7,700) or WR Nick Marsh ($7,200)
Crazy to look at Indiana’s team stats and see that Becker and Marsh’s numbers are nearly identical for the season. Both have exactly 529 receiving yards. Becker holds a slight 8-6 edge in receiving touchdowns, with just one more reception. And both have been targeted exactly 41 times. One or the other situation, not stackable against this Ohio State defense that is giving up just 23 total fantasy points per game to receivers.
↓ Fade – QB Josh Hoover ($7,300)
We’d rather spend up just $200 for Avery Johnson in this spot who we have projected significantly higher than Hoover’s 16.8-point projection. The Buckeyes are giving up just 150 YPG through the air, and the fewest number of passing touchdowns in the B1G (2). In fact, Ohio State has allowed the fewest fantasy points in the country to opposing quarterbacks.
$ Bargain Bin – WR Davion Chandler ($4,000)
Chandler saw the fifth most snaps among Indiana receivers against Nebraska, so tough to tell if the Hoosiers don’t yet trust the sophomore receiver in a big spot or not. Well, this is a BIG spot. But Chandler would be the cheap salary-saver at receiver for the Hoosiers as he scored a touchdown in four of six games this season.
+ Best of the Rest – Backfield.
50-50 split in workload between RB Lee Beebe Jr. ($6,400) and RB Turbo Richard ($7,400) against an Ohio State run defense that is giving up only 16 FPPG to opposing backfields. Like the WRs, if you wanted to have Richard or Beebe in your lineups, limit that to just one.
! Injury Notes –
RB Khobie Martin (Doubtful)
