Georgia

+ Team Overview

QB Gunner Stockton ($7,400) carries just an 18-point projection, which feels conservative against an Ole Miss offense capable of forcing Georgia into a shootout. Remember last year’s 43-35 thriller when Stockton accounted for five TDs? The Rebels allow just 16.8 FPPG to quarterbacks but rank 81st in EPA per pass play, suggesting some vulnerability. Our biggest concern is how effectively Ole Miss has contained dual-threat QBs, limiting Byrum Brown to five rushing yards on 13 carries last week and Arch Manning to just two yards.

Georgia’s backfield is becoming increasingly difficult to trust with RB Nate Frazier ($6,800) healthy, RB Dwight Phillips Jr. ($5,500) involved and RB Bo Walker ($4,200) now entering the mix. Georgia ranks 15th in rushing success rate against an Ole Miss defense sitting 98th, so the matchup is favorable, but splitting carries among multiple backs and Stockton severely limits individual upside. WR Craig Dandridge ($3,900), WR Talyn Taylor ($5,600) and WR London Humphreys ($3,700) have separated themselves in snaps and production, with Dandridge our preferred salary-saving option after playing 70%+ of snaps in three straight games. Still, we know the drill with Georgia receivers and their unpredictable weekly production. Stockton is playable as a standalone option.

+ Team Overview

This feels like a play QB Trinidad Chambliss ($8,700) naked type of slate, with little incentive to force additional pieces into lineups. We’re fading the backfield entirely against a Georgia defense ranked 17th in rush defense success rate and allowing just 13 combined FPPG to opposing RBs. Making matters worse, RB Makhi Frazier ($5,000) and RB Shekai Mills-Knight ($4,200) split carries against Auburn last week. Mills-Knight was more productive, but betting markets still favor Frazier as the lead ballcarrier. That’s a headache we’re happy to avoid given the limited ceiling and extremely low floor.

This game likely comes down to Chambliss, who accounted for five total TDs across two meetings with Georgia last season. The Dawgs rank 105th in explosive passes allowed, but it’s been smaller slot receivers like Isaiah Sategna, Bailey Stockton and Junior Sherrill who’ve caused the most problems. Unfortunately, Ole Miss doesn’t have that same type of weapon, and the Rebels’ receiving production has become increasingly unpredictable. TE Caleb Odom ($4,000)is our preferred pass-catcher given his affordable salary and Georgia allowing 12.3 FPPG to tight ends. As for the wideouts, we don’t have strong opinions for who to choose. Flip a coin.
